LAH Vaster Vision - Songs & Stories of the Lineage is a 12 week practice group. Each session will be 90 minutes.
- This stream is ideal for those curious about our lineage, who'd like to join together in story, song and meditation.
Just as children imbibe deep truths about the culture they are born into through the songs and stories of their ancestors, so we too, as Buddhist converts, can unlock a great deal by simply enjoying singing the songs and telling the stories of the lineage. During these twelve weeks we will have a chance to open our hearts and sing, and to open our minds to wonder tales.
Our lineage forbears used songs to express their longing and devotion, to transmit their deepest insights and to communicate an atmosphere that is both full of humour and profoundly sacred. The namtar—tales of liberation—of those who have gone before us on the path to Awakening, are full of clues about both the pitfalls we might encounter and the nature of Awakening itself.
Both Lama Agnes and Katie are long time devoted practitioners. Lama Agnes is an actor, a voice teacher and has written a book of lineage stories. Katie is an enthralled fan of the performance arts.
