About the Awakened Heart Sangha
Lama Shenpen
The Awakened Heart Sangha is a spiritual community formed by students of Lama Shenpen Hookham. She guides students worldwide from her retreat centre in Wales.
Lama Shenpen is a Buddhist teacher who has trained for almost 50 years in the Mahamudra & Dzogchen traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Shenpen has spent 12 years in retreat and for the past 30 years has been a student of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche.
Our community
The Awakened Heart Sangha is a worldwide community of teachers, students and supporters following the path of Awakening by taking part in the Living the Awakened Heart training.
'Sangha' is the traditional Buddhist term for a spiritual community.
Each Member helps create and sustain the community as a vehicle for their own sake and for the sake of all beings.
Hermitage of the Awakened Heart
The Hermitage is Lama Shenpen’s residence where she spends most of her time in retreat, teaching and working with her students.
It is the main teaching centre from which most retreats and courses are broadcast, making it accessible wherever you are in the world.
