Turning the Wheel of the Dharma
Saturday 18th July is Chokhor Duchen, one of the four major Tibetan Buddhist festivals of the year. It celebrates the Buddha's first teaching following his Enlightenment, where he laid out the Four Noble Truths in Sarnath near Varanasi. It is an auspicious day for Dharma practice as it is said that our good deeds on this day are empowered and multiplied 100 million times!
At the Hermitage, we will be making a light offering at the stupa, reciting the Samantabhadracharya pranidhana and reading the Sutta of the First Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma. You are all welcome to join us online as we mark this special day.
