“We should make this precious life meaningful by exerting ourselves in the conduct of a Bodhisattva in general and the practice of Shamatha and Vipassana in particular.”

 Shakyamuni Sadhana

Join Namka as she reflects on how these two threads of the path support and reinforce each other.  Follow her inspiration to explore more deeply the place of Love and Compassion practices in the Sangha.

“We should make this precious life meaningful by exerting ourselves in the conduct of a
Bodhisattva in general and the practice of Shamatha and Vipassana in particular.”

 Shakyamuni Sadhana

Namka will share some reflections on how these two threads of the path support and reinforce each other.  She will reflect on how Lama Shenpen and Lama Dashon’s teachings point us towards a way to integrate the practices of Formless Meditation and the more formal, though also daily life practices, of Love and Compassion such as the Apramanas and Tonglen.

As Lama Shenpen says in the DHB course on Sensitivity: “Realising the fundamental quality of sensitivity of the Indestructible Heart Essence means understanding the nature of mind at a very profound level and awakening to the Endless Compassionate Vision of the fully awakened Buddhas”.
