This month Ziji & Five will be guiding us in an exploration of Openness in the context of Vaster Vision (this year’s theme). How do these aspects inform each other?  How do we practise to harness their power? How does Openness lead us to greater Clarity and Sensitivity – expressions of our Buddha Nature?

We will approach this area at all levels: Openness as a positive attitude in our lives, as freedom from limiting assumptions, noticing openness in all our experience, and openness as Vaster Vision.

"The space of the mind is much vaster than any particular thought or feeling. Just notice this for an instant from time to time. That instant was a glimpse of something that is always there, it does not need your conceptual effort. Gradually develop confidence in that, learn to rest in the indestructible space that is inherent in every experience."
Lama Shenpen Hookham, Openness book of Discovering the Heart of Meditation.

"As the vastness of our heart and mind opens into its inherent spaciousness, so the warmth of our heart can expand into the Endless Compassionate Vision of Awakening, deeply sensitive and responsive, and yet completely free from grasping and attachment."
from DHB Openness, section D

Our aspiration is to inspire confidence in the indestructibility of our heart essence,  so everyone feels confident to explore their 'edge' in discovering the vastness of Openness. We are boundless measureless beings, unconstrained by time and space.
