Email From Longchen Foundation:

"On Tuesday, 2 May at 12:00pm, the vigil of Rinpoche's body came to an end as it was taken away by the funeral directors.  Witnessing Rinpoche's physical manifestation leave his home for the final time was enormously difficult and emotional for the Mandala Mother and some of the students who remained from keeping up the vigil. In the end, this lasted exactly 88 hours, with continuous practice throughout the day and night by them and many others who came from this country and abroad. The funeral directors were very kind to us all and treated the Mandala Mother and Rinpoche with the utmost respect and dignity.

Afterwards, we gathered inside to sit together in formless meditation. Eventually spontaneous practices arose including a song of realisation by Rigdzin Shikpo. Mandala Mother spoke to us about how important it is that we continue to practise the teachings Rinpoche gave us as the best way to honour him and the Longchen Foundation lineage.

The Mandala Mother has made funeral arrangements for Rinpoche to take place on Saturday, 17 June. On this day, we will have a service for Rinpoche at 11:00am at the Oxford crematorium. Afterwards we have the hall at St. Margaret's booked for the day. So please keep this date on your calendars. We will give more details about the plan for this day as soon as we can."
