Awakened Heart Sangha students, as part of the international community of Buddhists, you are invited to support a Buddhist initiative providing ongoing and practical help for Ukrainians.
This collaborative project, involving students of Khenpo Rinpoche, was initiated by Tomasz, Ariana, Jacek, Andrey and Daryana.
You are being invited to support their efforts in three ways:
1. Contribute financially to enable their ongoing mission (see below)
2. Come to the meetings every other week, simply to show solidarity, listen especially so that our Ukrainian friends feel heard and reassured that people care (link below and if you wish to be added to the mailing list, please message Jacek at [email protected]kd.oohay@700iztay )
3. Spread the word around, feel free to forward this email to your contacts or in your networks (non Buddhists are welcome too!)
Tomasz (Poland) and Jacek (Polish based in Denmark) have been friends for over 20 years, connected through Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, a principle teacher of Lama Shenpen Hookham. They have a good relationship with their friends in Ukraine - Andrey (Ukrainian based in Lviv) and Daryana (Russian based in Kyiv). Together they help consistently those in need, including delivering provisions to people in devastated and neglected areas of Ukraine, out of the reach of big humanitarian organisations.
Tomasz is a founder of Karma Dechen Chörling Buddhist centre in Warsaw, where with his wife Ariana (both shown in the photo with Pati), have been supporting refugees from day one of the war in Ukraine (providing them with food, shelter, personal advice about next steps and organising their longer term boarding and lodging in Poland and the rest of Europe).
All in all, this is an initiative of lifelong friends, connected in the Dharma, small in its scale perhaps but genuine and effective. They did not have the time to create an official profile for their activity - they are too busy helping people directly!
