Volunteers Community Week

Fri 24 Apr 2026, 5pm - Thu 30 Apr 2026, 8pm
Hermitage of the Awakened Heart, North Wales & online
Everyone is eligible for this event. This event is suggested to everyone.

We're planning a week of connection, practice and offering at the Hermitage from Friday 24th April to Thursday 30th April. You are warmly invited to join! Come for the full time, as a day visitor or anything inbetween! To ease things, we ask that you arrive between 9:00am - 5:00pm on the 24th if you're staying on site and between 9:00 & 10:00 if you're coming as a day visitor.

An opportunity to come together in open-hearted service of the Hermitage. The focus will be on joining as community, enjoying daily life at The Hermitage and offering our service each day to maintain the sacred space. Days will consist of outdoor and indoor work all geared around caring for our spiritual home. There will be plenty of ways in which you can get involved, connecting to the sacred space through the tending of the land and buildings. If you're new to the Hermitage this could be a wonderful way to engage with the place and meet more of our local sangha members, if you're an old friend we'd love to see you again!

Our Hermitage Manager, Tamsin, is hoping to work on specific projects during the time. In the woodlands we'll be creating pathways, indoors we'll be painting and decorating, there'll also be gardening etc. Great projects that will create a gift, a lasting impact for The Hermitage, Lama Shenpen and all who pass through.

For this retreat your service is your offering, if you'd also like to offer a financial donation to The Hermitage you can do so here, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
