Six Paramitas: Instructions for Bodhisattvas
The Six Paramitas are:
┬╖ generosity/giving (dana)
┬╖ ethical discipline/integrity (shila)
┬╖ forbearance/patience/equanimity (kshanti)
┬╖ applied energy/enthusiasm (virya)
┬╖ meditation (samadhi)
┬╖ wisdom (prajna)
The Bodhisattva training brings these six areas to perfection where they become spontaneous and effortless. For us they require dedication and effort which we can use every moment of our lives to develop. In this way our whole life becomes the path to Awakening. In this weekend we hope to start exploring each of the Six Paramitas, the way they all fit and work together and also some possible ways of applying them in our own lives.
