Six Realms

The Six Realms

A weekend in preparation for the Jewel Ornament Retreat

with Spomenka Chekerevatz and the Teachers Group

14-15 March 2009

Weekend Event at St. Mary's Convent, London

If all experience is Openness, Clarity and Sensitivity, how do we turn it into the suffering of the six realms of samsara? And how can we stop doing that? During this weekend, we will explore the six realms from both an inner psychological point of view as well as a more literal point of view. Understanding the nature of confusion is a key to dismantling the process of samsara. We will focus particularly on the way in which Trungpa Rinpoche presented these teachings. This weekend is a suitable for all students—beginners or experienced practitioners. It is especially recommended for those people planning on attending the Jewel Ornament of Liberation retreat at the Hermitage in June, when Lama Shenpen will be elaborating these teachings further.

Taught by senior students of Lama Shenpen, this weekend is part of an on-going series on Practice in Everyday Life. While entirely suitable for newcomers, some familiarity with the Discovering the Heart of Buddhism course will be helpful.

This weekend is open to everyone, and it is fine to come Saturday only.  There will be an optional meditation from 9.00am - 10.00am.

Saturday: 10:00am-5:30pm

Sunday: 10:00am to 4:30pm

The cost is £15 per day. Please also bring vegetarian food for a 'bring and share' group lunch on both days. To ease serving and clearing up, food should be already prepared and ready to serve.

All London weekend courses are held at the St. Mary's Convent, Priory Field Drive, Edgware, Middx, HA8 9PZ (a 15-minute walk from Edgware tube station).

There is limited accommodation at St Mary's Convent for ┬ú15 per night, including breakfast. It is essential to book this accommodation in advance by emailing  [email protected]ku.gro.sha@nodnolnisdnekeew .
